Doctor of Audiology
Dr. Rachel Wilson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from the University of Houston. She graduated with her Doctorate in Audiology from the Long Island Consortium (Hofstra University, Adelphi University, and St John’s University) in New York. She became interested in hearing loss when she wanted to better communicate using American Sign Language (ASL) with two culturally Deaf family members. After becoming conversationally proficient in ASL, she became interested in pursuing a career in Audiology after working as a volunteer conducting newborn hearing screenings at OHSU and Doernbecher hospitals in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Wilson’s clinical interests include adult diagnostics and amplification, assistive listening technology, hearing conservation and education, and community outreach. She is an Oregon state licensed Audiologist, and a Fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology. She is originally from Texas, and initially moved to Oregon in 2008. Dr. Wilson has worked in a variety of clinical settings in many states, including rehab facilities, hospitals, ENT offices and non-profit clinics. She is happy to be back in Portland and working with the incredible group of people at Audiology Center Northwest.
